I got a Wren subscription pretty soon after reading this article, but I'm curious what you think of Wren now, 9 months later. I haven't been keeping up with how they're doing. Have they met your expectations recently?

Hmm great question! I think overall, I'm happy with them: they are adding and updating projects as they grow and exhausting existing projects, and most of their communications link to a good amount of detail. When I do have questions, I can go to their discord. To be honest, I haven't paid much attention because I've been busy with research. At some point I want to look into https://bezerocarbon.com, whose data they are starting to use for their decisions, but that's low priority.

Also absolutely floored that you took action for climate stuff based on this little article!

Thanks for your thoughts! Wren seems so cool I'd never heard of it before. Have you read Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran-Foer?

No actually. Do you recommend ?

I do ! It's from 2009 about factory farming in the US, written as like a half-memoir half-informational type thing where the author talks about his own grappling with the decision of how little meat/non-vegan food to eat. I thought it did justice to the importance (both in terms of env impact and animal cruelty) of eating fewer animal-based foods while also respecting that the transition away from those foods can be very difficult.

There's essays Safran-Foer put in from non-factory farmers, factory farmers, vegan slaughterhouse builders, and other cool people that are especially worth the read.
